Hi Experts,
How do you pack 7.62 X 51mm m80 ball 60rd bandoleers into a standard 50cal ammo can?
My can is marked for 840 5.56mm so how many 7.62 rounds/bandos will fit?
Thanking you in advance.

I don't recall if M80 ever came in "50 cal" cans; the "30 cal" cans hold 200 rounds in boxes or linked.  I get Brit 7.62mm in "50 cal" cans sometimes and they each hold 400 rounds.

Other then length M80 Ball is the same size as M2 Ball and it's packed 400 rounds per "50 cal" can as well.

Thanks Chuck,
I am trying to find 7.62mm ammo cans which appear to be thinner than 50cal cans. I am still wondering how may bandos of 60rd ea are supposed to fit in a 30cal  or 50cal ammo can. Maybe 50cal cans are not meant for 7.62mm.
Tks again,
MKJ

I don't know about bandoleers but I can fit 480 rounds of 7.62mm NATO in battle packs in a 50 Cal. can. However, a .30 Cal. can will hold 240 rounds of 7.62mm NATO in bandoleers.

Hi Sukebe,
Thanks for the info.
Is a 30cal can different than a 7.62mm? How are the 4 60rd bandos packed? Port 200rd 7.62mm battle packs definately don't fit in 50cal cans.

US 7.62mm and .30 cans are identical.  Some offshore 7.62mm MG ammunition cans have a permanent filler on one side to help the shorter cartridges feed better.  Same external size, smaller internally.

240 rounds in bandoleers is 4 of 'em.

When I can get a 7.62mm ammo can I'll give a full report!
Tks all,
