If it's OK to shoot the surplus, it will be OK to shoot the newer ammo.  At least with a 8mm, the newer ammo is not as hot as the surplus.  

Newer alloys are better suited to shooting than many of the older rounds that used steel or phospher Bronze for armour piercing.

I treat every shooting as the ammo may be corrosive especially for Russian ammo bulk packed for you never know what may have got mixed in.

Sorry my question wasn't that clear. My friend asked me the other day at the range if it was safe to shoot new manufactured 8mm ammo in my Mausers but I wasn't sure.
