Hello everyone, I'm new here and a new GSG owner.  I love this rifle and it's fun to shoot but, there is one problem I'm running into quite often.  I'm getting stovepipes every 5 to 10 rounds and then misfeed immediatly after removing the stuck casing.

So far I've used 2 brands, I'm sure the first 100 rounds were CCI and then I just used a 500 round brick of Federal American Eagle

The CCI ammunition had no problems at all, it cycled without a hitch and worked great.  The federal american eagle has problems ejecting the spent casing causing stovepipes and all kinds of frustration.  Sometimes it felt as if the recoil power of the american eagle was inconsistent (not sure if that has anything to do with proper cycling).

I've done a search but public access is limited to the past 30 days.  Can anyone give me some guidance or point me in the right direction?

thanks ahead of time!

Just checked the ejector and it's on there solid.  I haven't done any modifications to the bolt at all.

i would say pick up a box of federal value pack and see how it works.  go from there.

I had these same problems when I used anything but CCI. Did the modifications that Jakal listed and have fired 800 rounds of mixed ammo without 1 FTF or FTE. I have noticed a difference in recoil when using Federal as opposed to others.

american eagle is very very dirty compaired to others and iv had the same problem with it seeming like the powder was under powered in some loads to me they have poor quality so i quit using it in semi auto rifles now i just use it in bolt actions

thanks for the info guys.  Great stuff in this site, I've a few mods so far, I'll be doing the firing pin mod & putting on a new RIS.  I'd like to throw on a CA UMP stock, but I've already got the GSG colapsable stock on there.  I'll wait till it breaks i guess lol.

I'm also glad to hear that I'm not the only one that feels in the inconsistencies of American Eagle ammunition.  I'll shoot some CCI ammo again this week when I get a chance    Love shooting this thing!
