Is NATO 308 ammo 7.62? and Can it be shot through M1A/M14/FAL?

In short...yes it's the same stuff and would shoot fine in all the listed rifles.
7.62X51, .308 win, 7.62 NATO = all the same thing
ANY OTHER 7.62 will not fit or be safe. TJR

I see that some Federal NATO 308 150gr is on sale at Natchez Shooters Supplies. I am looking to get some for a Christmas gift and want to know if it is decent ammo.
