I recently got my first smart phone (now I've got to add the phone to the growing list of items I have that are smarter than I am!!!). It's a Motorola Droid Razor M and I'm starting to learn how to use it. Anyway, I found a pretty neat Ballistics Calculator at the Play Store. It's by Strelok and I've already input the information on two rifles, my son's Savage Model 10 .223 with Nikon Monarch BDC reticle and my Win 88 .308 with Redfield Accu-shot reticle. You input bullet weight, BC, and velocity, pick the scope and reticle, and pick you distance, elevation, wind, and temp. and it calculates the numbers for you. When you click on 'reticle' and it shows you a picture of your reticle and where you should aim! Best of all, it's free!!! |

I'm Android, Son is IPod.
Don't recall what he uses for an app. He's a high speed tactical rifle operator and laughed at the last ballistics program I had loaded into a now deceased HTC EVO Android. Whatever app he uses, all I remember was it not being available as an Android app. I'm in for updates, be interested to see how it compares to Hornady ballistic calculator. Its free as you know and part of Hornady's website. Regards, dc. |
