Ya know, I used to be happy with my ARs, AKs, and .308 bolt guns till someone told me I needed a good main battle rifle in 7.62.
So I did research, asked questions, shot the competitors, and looked over the choices.
The winner, hands down were the FALs, for function, reliability, ease of cleaning/repair, and availability/price of replacement parts.
So now I can firmly say:
It's all you guys fault!

My two new additions to the houshold, the 18" barrled one is my wife's new toy, mine is the 16".

I also thought an AR would satisfy me again with all the bolt rifles I own. But, the mighty FAL is simply IMHO the greatest of the great!! I will be owning a new DSA VERY soon!!

By the way, what makes are your rifles, where did you get them?? They look awesome!!

Both of the rifles were built here localy by Derek of AZEX Arms.
He'll take your kit, and receiver (Imbel preffered) and build you exactly what you want.
Check out his site in the industry forum, he's not only awesome at building FALs, he does G3 clones and AKs also.

Those are sweet looking, I'm in th eprocess of shortening a LIAI actually 2 of them one at 16" and another at 18".  The one in the forground is an Imbel reciever what is the second.
It looks like a DC or DSA.

Nice FALs you've got there - looks like you did pretty well to me... For reliability, durability, ease of cleaning, cost and availability of parts and mags - the FAL is without peer, IMO...

Very nice, Gunslinger!

Derek has an excellent reputation as a builder. I really likeee my 16in. lightweight, but I also like my full size rifle as well!

I just fired mine today for the first time.  I built it from a parts kit on an imbel receiver, and it was a KICK IN THE PANTS!!!!!   It is a lot of fun to fire something that makes a little noise, and gives you a push on the shoulder when you are used to an AR.  I'm hooked.
