Just found this website and was wondering if any one has tried them? Im realy interested in them because they say they will detonate with a .22. I could just imagine how loud they would be with my sparrow attached |

Yeah this is just great!
I'm the VP of our local range (850 members) and we are looking at the possibility of having to close down after two fires this year & a big one last year that escaped the range.. When the media picks up that a wildfire is started by shooting, they have a field day...... and a fire started by you with one of these will bring you a very expensive .gov lawsuit- not to mention any private property involved.. If you want to blow things up, they will actually PAY you to do it in the Army! |

I never shot that brand but I shot Sure Shot .22 sensitive exploding targets. I'm sure they work pretty much the same. I had to stop because I shoot near my house and these things are so loud the neighbors get kind of ticked.
I also shot a 1 lb tannerite target once and the .22 sensitive stuff, although much smaller, was nearly as loud.. If you can do it without stirring up the ire of anyone, do it! |

If you want to blow things up, they will actually PAY you to do it in the Army! I have to agree. The tannerite caused a very large explosion but lacked any type of fireball. It made a large cloud of white smoke. The .22 sensitive stuff has a different mixture and causes a bright flash along with the boom. From what I understand, the 22 sensitive stuff is basically flash powder, which is known to cause fires. Like I said, I actually still have some of the 22 sensitive stuff that I never set off because it was just too loud for where I shoot. |
| Last week at our local range some guys showed up with some of that in the smaller containers, they proceeded to stick them to the backer board for the targets at 25 yds, after about 100 rounds or so one of the guys actually hit one and it went off. It was very loud and when the smoke cleared they had blown the backer to pieces. After receiving angry stares from everyone that was there they packed up their shit and left, the gate to get in/out requires a card swipe to open it, one of the members noted the time of the swipe and reported them to the club President, they were invited to pursue there recreational shooting elsewhere. |
| I think most of those targets list right one them minimum of 100 yd distance between you and the target, at least the ones I have are listed that way. I have shot them, I have only shot the tannerite targets and there is no way I would want to closer than 100yds. |
