I see that there are Heritage 28 gauge SXS for a decent price along with 410. I was thinking of picking one up and doing an SBS/AOW Pistol grip very short length shotgun. 12 gauge is great but not fun to shoot as a handgun SBS, A 410 seams reasonable lots of ammo choices and even self defense but its tiny BUT very manageable recoil. I saw they have a 28 gauge, and while a nice size for handling, the cartridges are not commercially defensive - mostly an upland bird gun round but I don't see why I couldn't load some #2 or other Buck loads. Give me something to do and play with. |

A 20 gauge might do it, although stout 20 gauge Buck you will feel! I king of was thinking of trying a 28Gauge merely to make it "dainty" or small without being excessively tiny and awkwardly narrow the way some 410 doubles do - but a 20ga might do. OR maybe just circle back to a 12 gauge and stick to "mini shells". |
