Ran accross someone who would NOT believe you that class III items are legal?
I ran in to a guy last weekend that out right called me a lier in public because he was so missinformed. Had him angry about it to, asked if I had a class III license. SURRRrrreeeeeee I do as I tossed a copy of a stamp down infront of him. His reply after looking it over " WELL, I GUESS there not as strict as they were 10 years ago if they gave YOU one" |

I take my time and try my best to explain Title II stuff to anyone who asks.
I've had a couple of folks tell me that I was shooting illegal weapons even after I showed them the tax stamp, explained the process, and showed them the Sheriff's signature from my first two transfers. Some folks just don't want to learn. |

my dad and my father-in-law, are both your prototypical "the government is always looking out for you and never does anything wrong and there'd be anarchy if we repealed any laws" baby-boomer republicans. they both clearly think that, while i may not be INTENTIONALLY breaking the law by owning NFA equipment, i must be breaking the law somehow... regardless of how many times i've tried to explain it to them, it's still met with a constant barrage of "well, i don't know how that can be legal". ... but, i stopped worrying about it a long time ago. i just give them the brush-off when it's mentioned now. |

My own father told me that instead of buying an "illegal" Silencer, I should just rob a bank.
At first I didnt know what the hell he was talking about. lol I tried to explain to him there is nothing illegal about buying a silencer if you jump through the right hoops & pay the tax. Even though I showed him the approved tax stamp, he still dont believe me

That's just silly. Silencers and bank robbery go hand in hand...everyone knows that. Executing hostages with an unsuppressed weapon just draws all kinds of attention.
