found it Found it? Best advice, take it to the nearest military installation and let them find it's owner. Those radios are a CCI (Controlled Cryptographic Item), Read Harris RF does NOT and CAN NOT sell them to the public and possession of said CCI might be a good way to see the inside of club fed. |

Well, it's a chinese clone, so lets not talk crazy just yet - i don't see anyone really spending 8 grand on a radio just yet :) lol haha.......they are making some prototypes in hong kong though akin to the prc-148 from spartanairsoft and another company.....trying to figure out how to power it is the big thing...i really wanted a real -152 power recharger/battery so i could try and re-work it.......I put a Thales battery box on it from eBay and it seems to work for now, just doesn't match up body-style wise
But both the -152 and -148 come in "clear" versions and/or federal/state/local public safety versions far as the internet claims...who knows. For example, anyone can buy a PRC-148 right here....at the very least the "clear" version for sure...just pony the 8 grand. http://www.bhigear.com/radios.aspx |

I know that nonencrypted/DES/AES versions exist but have yet to hear of any state or local government willing to pony up that kind of change for a radio, $3K each for a Motorola XTS5000 is excessive enough. Be careful with mixing accessories between the two radios, the batteries should both be 12V but if I remember correctly the '148 is a little bit more forgiving on the voltage deviating from 12V. |

sounds good..
this is the hong kong version i grabbed...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXAP92HbdCA Airsoft brand by the name "spartan" these things sure feel real, but i can see no-one being ready to pay the big bucks for the real one..just too crazy. But man is there alot of hot glue holding it together inside :)...lol |

Why are you asking about lol haha airsoft radios in here?
ETA: And just because a retailer has radios for sale that do not have cryptographic support provided does not mean that they will sell to "anyone". Most responsible (see: legal, lawful, moral) retailers will understand the controls in place to sell to purchasing agents. If you don't provide a legitimate letterhead request-for-quote, you will be told to pound sand. |

Your radio is either airsoft or stolen, neither has a place here. |
