[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Anyone use this mount ?

Bassett SM14-M1A scope mount. I'm looking for a solid mount.

I went ahead and puchased this mount. $97
my thinking is it's simple-after reading about the install,It does lack in the "looks" dept.,but function is what matters.

Its getting goodreviews on M14 FORUM Is it aluminum? Thats the only thing that turned me away

It is steel and worth the money,I got mine used at a show for thirty bucks and my M1-A1 scope has not moved ,mount or rings.It went on tight with the heavy bolt it come with but I put a bit of locktite on it.The $97 seems high but that is a lot lower price than others than I have seen that are not near as good and lack holding power

Wolfman, check yours again, the ones I saw are aluminum thats why I went with a Sadlak Steel mount
