New as in something different, unique, innovative etc, in packs right now or soon to be?

Seems every company has pretty well beaten the 3-Day Assault Packs to death. Any chance someone's working on the next thing that everyone will copy for the next 10 years?

I'm curious as well, as I just ordered a 3-day RAID Pack from T.A.G. and there is a 100 day backorder.  Any body familiar with this pack.  Should I wait for it or order something else.  Will use it for an all purpose bag, truck bag, GHB, BOB.  Any sugestions?  Thanks.

I've been putting off getting one, but I definitely want one down the road. My only complaint about that pack is it's lack of a belt, but I'd probably only use it for everyday type stuff and not for an extended wear use, so it's probably a moot point.

I'd get one... but I'd get one from Lightfighter and not TAG... cheaper and you're getting it from the people who actually came up with the idea. As I understand it TAG made them for LIghtfighter before Lightfighter went to in-house manufacturing of their packs. But for whatevr reason TAG is allowed to continue making the RAID pack. Mainly, though for the price.

I haven't actually handled one but I do have a Kifarue Marauder which is a similar design (although it's definitely got more going for it than the RAID). I like the Marauder and I suspect I'd feel the same about the RAID... just haven't gotten around to getting one. Maybe soon though.

i have the eagle raid (from lightfighter.com) in black and let me say bomb proof!! its very well made and an all around heavy duty pack. if i had the spare cash id get another one. i keep mine plain jane at the moment with no pouches or accys attached. that could change but i dont need the extra space. you cant go wrong with it.

Here one I'd got recently, I think it is a step above your average back pack.

Not knocking the Conflict or any other SDS stuff, but if you notice the website says this " Imported (Made using USA Fabrics)".   SDS also says that about the Super FLC.  I recently got one and the tag says "made in Vietnam".   Well made, but I thought it'd be made in USA since they issue so much SDS gear.

Lightfighter/ATS will have a smaller version of the RAID available soon, not sure if that counts as 'new' though.

Hey,  Thanks for the heads up on that Lightfighter Pack.  Just ordered the Raid Assault Pack from ATS Tactical Gear.  Looks like the same one that T.A.G. sells for quite a bit cheaper.  Can't wait.  Thanks again.

Is that bubble-wrap on the shoulder straps?

Interesting. Any pictures of prototypes? What's it going to be called?

A little bit of history:

- Lightfighter designed the RAID pack.
- Lightfighter didn't have manufacturing capability so they outsourced production.  TAG, Eagle and one other company have handled the production at different times.
- Lightfighter was bought out by another company and is now called ATS.
- ATS has invested in equipment and is now producing a line of gear in house.

It's being discussed over on the Lightfighter forums and they're debating a name.  There's a thread in their general discussion forum about ATS tactical gear and the pack is being discussed there.

ATS is also designing some other new gear, and that's the stuff that is news in my opinion.  It's listed at www.atstacticalgear.com/istar.asp?a=29&manufacturer=ATS  I bought a coupel of their new admin pouches and one of each of the new medical pouches and it's all good stuff.  The admin pouches are the same height as most other designs but they are wider so that they have room to hold a right in the rain notebook.  The medical pouches are similar to other designs but they have a separate backing that attaches to the vest and the pouch tears away when needed.  That means I can keep the blow out kit on the back out of the way and still be able to get to it when needed.

This is a very nice pack, little smaller than the Conflict, but also the Conflict has more features.

Is that tech talk for bubble-wrap?

It kinda looks like bubble rap, but it is a durable fiber looking material, Im just a consumer dunno all the tech stuff.

Look like it well enough made to last many life times.

Anyone know what they mean by "Features SDS Developed Double Belt Technology to allow you to mount pockets both on the outside and inside of the waistbelt."  ?

The belt system on the SDS Conflict, their is dual belts, one wrap around waist like normal, the 2nd one has molle hook ups on each side these two pouches, these pouches are stackable on each side, so you can add additional pouches if needed.

The Conflict back pack has tons of molle hook up straps on the exterior of the pack, even the bottom.

Five built in exterior pouches, I've added more pouches to mine, endless options.
