The handle appears to be metal lined.  Knife is about 4.75" closed, 8.25" open.

That is one of Cold Steel's better folders.  The japanese stuff is of better quality.  Also appears to be an older model.  The San Mai brings a higher price.  I did a quick google, but did not find this blade.  Try Blade Forums maybe they can help...Good luck.

I used to own a couple of these. It's a Cold Steel Shinobu, one of their older folders (say around mid to late 80's). The blade is a layered laminate of San Mai steel and was very well made. The trend now is for tactical folders that can be opened with one hand, but I'd buy another of these if I could. Of course tanto blades aren't popular with everyone, but these were very nice knives. Nice find.

ETA: These were made in a number of sizes, with one size even being around 2" closed. IIRC, it was marketed as being useful to hang off a man's briefcase. Those were the days.
