Yesterday, I finally bit the bullet and called since I am right at five months. Could not believe what they told me. December.
Sent in late January, went pending in March. Approval in December.
I got my last one in April at five months to the day.
Thought everyone would be interested in knowing what the going approval time is these days.
I guess I have more time to get a new .308 host.

They gave me same ridiculously long wait time also, back in march. Couple weeks later dealer called and said stamp is in.

I personally don't put any faith in estimated approval times given by call takers.

My check was cashed April 16th and went pending June 19th. I was told to expect my stamp sometime in March 2014.

Wow, what form is that for? I have a form 1 I called about yesterday, and they said I should have it within 60 days. I sent it off in January as well. Like someone else said, they tend to give you a longer quote than how long it will actually take.

I think they're just giving a general 9 months from pending answer. I have three out for approval, two of which were pending in Jan. I called last week and was told Octoberish, but... my examiner is already working on the second week of Jan pendings, so it should just be a few more weeks.

Good to know as I sent off paperwork for my Osprey45 back in May. Plenty of time to get barrels and more host guns

I picked up my latest can last week.  The forms were mailed NOV 15 2012.  Right at 7 months.

Bet they're just saying 6 months from when you call.

The dealer in OKC where I bought mine said their turn around times were averaging 6.5 months, so we'll see. Good thing is they have made an arrangement with an attorney who is setting up trusts for $100 for their clients...not too shabby!

As has been mentioned before, no one has been approved post panic and tax time yet. Expect wait times to increase. They may be quoting the company line when they say nine months but they also said they have had a HUGE increase in incoming paperwork since February/March. I mailed mine in april thinking I would hopefully have it for our annual family shoot in November but I don't expect it until February or march of next year.

I purchased my suppressor at my dealer on April 9th.  I didn't think to bring a check or money order for the $200 tax stamp application payment, but I did have $200 on me, so my dealer offered to write the check for the application.  I assumed that the paperwork went out that day or the next and that I'd be pending by now.  Last week my dealer called and said that the BATF contacted them to let them know the tax stamp check bounced.  For some unknown reason, the dealer thought I had written the check.  When I sent the dealer a copy of my receipt showing that I paid them $200 cash for them to write the check, he said they would immediately take care of it.  Just got email from the dealer stating I went pending on June 28th, so it looks like an additional two months' wait because the dealer screwed up.  What a pisser.

That sucks. I normally use Silencer Shop for suppressors. Always a smooth process with no hiccups. On my last 2 purchases, Silencer Shop was out of stock, so I ended up going with a local dealer. I asked them several times why they couldn't give me the paperwork and let me submit instead of them, because I have heard of issues with the Dealer dropping the ball.  "Oh no, that's not how we do it. We have a specific individual that does nothing but prepare and submit the paperwork. We're professionals and do this all the time. Don't worry...."  After several follow-up calls, emails, etc. the paperwork was finally submitted 2 months after the initial purchase.

I hate it when I let someone talk me into doing something against my better judgment. You would think I would have learned by now...

The owner called me today, and, long story short, the BATF lost the funds.  That's the only explanation that makes any sense.  The check the dealer reissued was cashed a mere 4 days later, so hopefully this won't delay things too much.

Has anyone else had the BATF loose funds?

There was no delay because of lost funds. All forms that are submitted now are taking 2 months or a little more to go pending after received.  If I were you though, I would call the ATF and check to see what pending date they give you.

8-9 weeks after the check is cashed before it goes pending is the current norm. Call the ATF. It may have just not hit the system yet.

Same.  Mailed off 3 Nov, picked it up  29 June.   New submissions expected to be much longer though if my FFL is to be believed.
