I guess I need some help installing the butt stock adapter I got from Argonaut Arms. The thing is, it did not come with ANY instructions - none! I'm not happy about that at all. Perhaps you guys can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Argonaut Armament I've removed the wooden butt stock. I installed the adapter and screwed in the new butt stock. I have a Sierra Precision grip from an old AR-15 I want to install next. I slid it onto the adapter and it mates nicely. Here's the thing - the hole in the grip does not line up with the hole in the adapter. They are misaligned by about 1/2". The grip would have to be moved 1/2" to the rear for them to line up correctly and a 1/2" gap would appear between the front of the grip and the rear of the recess it should fit into. What's up with that situation? The other thing is the threads seem way too tight. I ran the screw into the hole (without grip) and I thought it was cross threaded it was so tight. Should I loosen it up with a tap? |

Hi Mike... There is a possibility that your adapter has a hole in the the wrong spot...we had a couple of test units out of our latest batch where our machinist put the hole a bit too far back. They were to have all been purged before they went to coating, however it is possible one slipped through. If you wound up with one of these units, please do send it back to us and we will immediately replace it. The threaded hole should not be as tight as you are describing either...I would check to make sure the threads on whatever fastener you are using are clean, and that it is the appropriate thread pitch/size (should be a 0.25 national fine). Take care, BrobeeBiter www.argonautarmament.com |
