Anyone ever reload with these for plinking?  Think I'm going to get back into it.

I bought 4000 of  55 grain boat tail and although not Hornady, they are giving me good results at 50 yards.  I can usually cover 10 shots with a half dollar piece using an elbow rest and a good scope through my Rock River 16" barrel.

I find a slight bit of variation in length and weight but for plinking and fun, not bad at all.

If you are talking about 55 gr FMJBT's loaded in 223, yes I have loaded and shot some.

I was getting 100 yd 10 shot groups of 6 inches off the bench.

I usually get 2 to 3 inch 10 shot groups with pulled (heavy pull marks) 62 gr SS-109. Not a match bullet here.

So I will not be buying these again. Hope they work better for you.

I think I'll pass then.  I'll go with Horn or Win.  Thanks for the help

You will be much happier with the Hornaday.

Not as happy with the Win.

Pretty much what I found too. Both Win and Armscor don't like to be pushed into the 3000fps range or higher in fast twist barrels. Loading down a bit tightens the groups up a LOT. My loads are minute-of-steel-gong from standing, which works for short range 3 gun matches.
