If you are wanting the hot weather desert boots with the "thin" type sole like the early jungle boots they were made by Altama - http://www.altama.com/Tp1/item_detail.aspx?ItemCode=4156 . Alot of guys did not like those boots though because the sole's were so thin when you walked alot especially with a heavy load they did not support the foot too well. But that could be a matter of personal preference I guess.
The ones that they issue now and they are very good for all around use. They have thicker sole's and a little more padding at the top of the boot so when you lace your boots up the fabric at the top does not cut into your leg. Here are the ones I was issued in 2006 - **you can find them on Ebay cheaper though** http://www.bellevilleshoe.com/product.php?current_product=1 These are not the crappy "5lb ea." Belleville black boots you probably got in basic though just so you know..... |

I know Galaxyarmynavy.com has them for about 30 bucks, Iam sure they are a knock off of the USGI ones we were issued. |
