Have you guys seen this?  Automated 1050, produces 1K or more per hour, all automated.  $850 for the stuff.  Or, if you gotta buy it all from scratch, about $3K.  Pretty slick overall for the high-volume reloader...

Looks like a great device. Certainly good for consistant repeatability.

On the down side it voids your Dillon warrenty.

1050's don't have a life time no BS warranty anyway since they assume it's a commercial product

No but they have a lifetime warrenty on some of it. I forget exactly what and then one year for the rest. I asked before I got mine. Mike even told me about the PW Drive. That's how we got into the conversation.

IIRC, an actual commercial loading machine is around $5k. I can't see adapting automation to a non automated press when a purpose built machine isn't really all that much more expensive.

did everyone see that video? It is a lot smoother then I thought it would be.

It's slower than I can operate the machine manually, but if I were a commmercial operation that had more than one machine this would be a neat way to have all the machines loading at the same time with me just monitoring the process for problems.  Reliability would seem to come down to how well you cull your cases for problems there and how clean you can keep the press to avoid powder gumming jams and such.

From what I can see, the automated setup just replaces the handle.  While that's a nifty linkage, I can't see it being $850 worth of anything.

At least I finally got a chance to see how the 1050 swages primer pockets.  Pretty cool.

Don't forget another $700 or more for the automatiuc bullet feeder too.  Nice if you're a one man shop with a crapload of machines to run.  You just keep an eye out for a machine messing up and take care of those issues as they come.

I already crank out over 1,000 per hour on my 1050 , why would I waste the money to do the same amount ?

So you can sit and read a book while the machine loads without you!!
