I love these camo threads and appreciate the work of the OP to get these photos to us. Do you have any similar ones with the older woodland or maybe ACU? |

The OG Woodland would be slightly blotchier than the digi and UCP (ACU as it's miscalled) would be alot like the desert digi as in it'll wash out in green environment.

Great Pics. I'm impressed with the Digital Woodland. I've always thought just from looks that it appeared to be a much better woodland camo than the Army's ACU. As former Army myself I think the Marine Corps was definitely a step or two ahead of the Army when they went with the Desert Digital and the Woodland Digital MARPAT Camo Patterns.

Right now, for me personally, I am liking the Digital Woodland the best, with Multicam a very close second. The Digital Desert can obviously be used, and is better than nothing, but not as effective as the other two. Gen II X-camo will be next.

Actually the top left is x-camo, the bottom one it digital woodland. but yes i some sense Tiger Stripe also in the X-camo, and also in the woodland digital. Thanks for the correction. The woodland camo looks pretty good, but it looks like there are 3 shades of brown and only 1 of green. Personally, I think that if they added a bit of lighter green into the mix, it would turn out really well. Or has that been done? edit just went back and looked again. ..or were you talking about the X-Camo? Hawkeye, you mentioned in another thread that you had some older woodland digital camo, and that it has been 'toned down' since. Is this you have displayed here the older or newer kind? If you have seen both, could you elaborate? Also, does anyone know if the 5.11 woodland digital camo and the Propper woodland digital camo are the same mix. or are they competing? Also, I am about to the point where I need a listed thread just with a picture of each pattern with just a description of what the pattern is and who it is use by, if anyone. The woodland digital looks similar to the USMC, but I am not sure if it is the same pattern (with or without the AEG) or just similar. Antoher edit: I found this when I googled 'digital multicam', although people are claiming it is not. Can anyone ID the pattern for me, and maybe point me to another thread if it has already been discussed? BB868, I see you posted this also a while back. Any info? http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll83/imortal_22/digitalmulticam.jpg looks like Italian digital |

I'm about to buy some heavy duty hunting gear from Sitka Gear.
Their Optifade camo that they use; produced in collaboration with Gore is pretty impressive. I will work in the areas I hunt very well I believe. Sitka Gear |

One other update...... as I mentioned in the opening post, material composition is very important to me. The 60/40 Cotton/Poly of both the X-camo's has not been to my liking. Holds moisture far longer than 50/50 NYCO or the 65/35 Poly/Cotton. Gets wet and stays wet. Also, both sets of X-camo are fading badly, and in odd ways. The Multicam and Digitals, still look new.
On a side note, I recently got a few pair of khaki Propper BDU pants from their discount line. They are a 60/40 Cotton/Poly, but seem to manage moisture MUCH better than the X-camo. Just the difference in the material itself I suppose as far as the quality and such is concerned. |

Woodland can be effective, in its intended environment. Its a very specific environment though.... which is dark, shadowy hardwood forests. Its pretty limited outside of that, especially when compared to other offerings.
Its not one of my favorites (see thread title) though, so thats why its not featured here. |

Just throwing one in there... Great post anyways!!! I like the Army digital or the MARPAT the best out of all the hype these days, but I don't think I would give up my woodland anytime soon. Oh that hurts I'm so sorry I was mearly pointing out how bad woodland sucks ass I know, I know, you have to hide behind thick brush, and in the shadows, and then it works great, never mind if it does even go with your background in general, or when you don't have any thing to hide behind ( as shown in my pics, multicam does ) |

I recently picked up a pair of Tru-Spec TRU Pro-G bdu's in Coyote. I got mine from Desert Deuce but they are also available at OPSGear as well.
The material is a 65/35 Poly/Cotton ripstop. So far, my first impressions are very favorable. I'll get some more pics up of them outdoors soon. Also, I havent forgotten about doing some night vision shots with the others both with, and without, IR illumination, just havent had a chance to get to it. I'll be including these when I do. |
