Why do you guys post this kind of stuff? I'm in the market for a Bohica 50 and want to see some owner's efforts.

If you look carefully, I think you can see fluting marks on the barrel strips.  That is the only way I can see such a perfect splitting of the barrel.  Well, that, plus a near muzzle bore obstruction.

That was actually an Accuracy International rifle that blew up due to faulty metallurgy in the barrels.

Here's a link to the story on that...: http://www.thehighroad.us/showthread.php?t=128281

BOHICA barrels haven't done anything like that...

I'm planning to order a Bohica upper with fluted 24" barrel any day now. Don't have the funds to buy everything at once so it's going to be my Winter project. How well does the Bohica brake compare to something like a Barret brake? In your opinion, whose brake is the best?

Bushmaster break is the best IMHO. The bugger is huge though. Armalite makes a very effective one as well. Common thread to Bohica I think as well.

But Dont get me wrong. The bohica model works, just not as well.

Is your bolt knob a custom one?  It looks different than the knob on my MKIII.

Thats the new standard handle. I called Bohica and they sent me one out.

Highly recommend getting the new handle. It has an eccentric allowing you to adjust the fit  when closed. Also grab a new pin while you're at it.

Those steel bipod feet perched on the roof of that car already tell me that this fellow would make a damn good whiskey drinkin’ partner..  I’d do the same thing in a heartbeat – but then my .50 BMG rifle is worth about twice of what my car is…  Did I really just admit that?  Awe…shit!

I’ve had this Bohica for 14 months and I’m quite tickled with it.  It started off with a Bushmaster Varminter lower and then I found this stainless steel Bohica lower and found out it was just the ticket for what I wanted. I figured with what I saved by going with the Bohica upper, I could put a nice Scope on it and went with the  Nightforce NXS 8-32X56 scope.  The only problem I’ve had with it was certain brass sticking in the chamber with some of the thicker brass or brass that came from a M2 with lousy head spacing.  My best friend also has one and I decided to pick up an 800 grit chamber hone from brushreasearch.com and the Flex-Hone Oil that works with it.

StatusPart IDPart DescriptionQTYPriceTotal
IN STOCK07411CHAMBER FLEX-HONE 50 BMG 800SC1@ $35.61 / ea$35.61

StatusPart IDPart DescriptionQTYPriceTotal
IN STOCKFHPFLEX-HONE OIL - 1/2 PINT1@ $8.85 / ea$8.85
&n bsp;

I’ve honed my chamber twice to get the desired effect and I just got done shooting a dozen rounds today and 2 of them needed a nudge.  With the freeze proof faucet center stem that I use to keep the water running to the horses in the winter times.  It’s about 38 inches long with a brass tip and works perfectly to protect the bore when punching out a stuck case.

Don't shoot it.....
I routinely cycle my stuff through cleaning drills.
I don't shoot most of my firearms as much as I should - but they still need to be maintained so even if I don't shoot 'em I still clean and oil 'em....

BTW - For those that didn't notice, the last two pics are the BOHICA aluminum single shot lower version and I haven't shot it in this configuration yet.....
