| With a 25 yard BZO, M1 Garand shooting surplus Greek HXP, how high (above the 25 yard BZO) will the round impact at 50 yards? |
| Took my Garand to the range and got zeroed pretty quick. Zero at 100 yards turned out to be 6 clicks up from bottom. I understand zero at 200 yards should be approximately 1 more click up from the 100 yard zero, or 2.4 inches higher than the 100 yard zero. Guess I’ll have to shoot it to find out. I had my 44 Springfield re barreled about a year ago and this is the first chance I have had to shoot her. I was impressed, kept eight rounds on a 3-inch Shoot N See. Now I need to get more trigger time and fix a little problem. Occasionally, my Garand will eject the clip with several rounds in it. I hope it is the clip latch spring, as I would think a worn clip latch would be a more consistent problem. |

MB3––
Each "click" of elevation equals one "minute of angle". IF you are shooting to point-of-aim (POA = POI), you would need to come up 2 (or perhaps 3) clicks from your 100 yard zero to hit POA/POI at 200. IF you are shooting "6 O'clock hold" on a target and want to strike an X-Ring at 100––and then place rounds in an X-ring at 200, you would also need to factor in the difference from 6 O'clock (POA) to the X-Ring (POI) on two different-sized targets. Inre: premature clip ejection, Fulton Armory sells a clip-latch spring which is "extra strong", more powerful than the GI spec, and it is well regarded in the Garand shooting community. It'll probably solve your problem. As long as you're paying for shipping, you might want to get a Gas Cylinder wrench while you're at it, if you don't already own one. Good luck. ––Eight_Ring |
