I know that this has been done to death but I'm still a bit confused. Am I (a civilian) able to buy a Benelli M4 and put on the collapsible stock without any other modifications?

I'm asking this because I'm getting ready to sell one and I don't want to put up pictures that might get me in trouble. Thanks!

Too late. The above post would have got you in trouble...

I may be wrong, but I think you have to switch a few parts for Made in USA stuff to have that stock. Somebody will be along soon to let you know.

Yes, you'll need to swap foreign parts for us-made parts in order to add a full length mag tube and collapsing stock. Unfortunately there are not a lot of options for M4 compliance without spending quite a bit of money, couple hundred at least and you will not see a return on this investment.

What I meant to say was: ".....and I don't want to install the collapsible stock and then put up pictures that might get me in trouble"

I don't have a full length mag tube. It would be right from factory except for the collapsible stock. Does that make a difference? Thanks!

Yes it does. M4s are not importable for civilian sale with the collapsible stock, so you cannot legally add one to an imported gun.

If your asking if you can as in the ability to do so, then yes. A collapsible stock will fit right on a civilian M4. Legally wise you can't unless you change four parts to US made ones.

The bolt handle does not qualify as a compliance part for 922r.

Freedom Fighter Tactical makes a near OEM forend  that qualifies as a 922r compliance part.

But in the end, if your goal is to sell this gun, then it's not worth the trouble and cost of making it compliant. Sell the gun with the collapsible stock as an uninstalled extra or sell the stock separately.  Either way, you will have an easier, more profitable sale.

922r compliance is a money pit. Necessary to stay legal, certainly, but not something to make money on.

Return the weapon to stock condition.

Sell the collapsible stock separately. You'll get more money in the end.

922 compliance is expensive.

Thanks all, this is what I'm going to do. Cheers.
