Power was improved as well but at the expense of more pumping and difficulty in pumping. Not so much that it was an issue but it definitely added additional strain on the linkage. It also required the bolt to be cooked first before pumping, not a problem but if that isn't done it wouldn't build pressure IIRC. It's been quite a few years since that experiment so I apologize for the lack of correct terminology. Ultimately I ordered another stock valve, returned it to factory stock and added a PCP for higher power needs. For short range posting and target practice the factory valve setup is good IMO. The good thing is the factory parts are widely available if you care to try this yourself. |

Once I actually get my shop moved and setup again I was planning on making a new valve and modifying the bolt, not looking for anything that would be stressing linkages... just overall efficiency upgrades. Not to mention getting rid of the hammered in rollpins for everything! |

Not to mention getting rid of the hammered in rollpins for everything! @ManMan If you're interested in a PCP conversion go to the Crosman Custom Shop and order a 2300KT to your specs, mill off the CO2 end cap, drill the tube and pin a bottle block in there with good screws (I ordered some from McMaster-Carr) then add a regulated bottle. I did one like this -should have kept but I traded it to a friend. Added a decent scope and a LDC...it was tuned to shoot about 80 shots at 800fps before falling off the regulator if I recall correctly. Thing was a tack driver and stupid quiet. I'll see if I can find a picture from when it was completed... ETA here it is... Attached File |
