I thought I would ask this here instead of the Beretta section. Are 1934 grips compatible with the 948 frame? Looking to replace the old Bakelite grips. |

The 948 build is almost done. Got my “reproduction” three arrow Beretta 948 grips delivered. Lo and behold I believe these are legit Italian production that only was on the 3.5” / 6” Plinker models. I have a 948 safety inbound and that will complete the build on my second 948. I am going to have to source some new recoil springs. I bought “NOS” factory and “vintage aftermarket” from Numrich and both are about 0.300” shorter than the recoil spring from the excellent condition 948 I’m finishing putting together. The first 948 is from 1952 (second production) year and has the front sight on the slide. The second 948 is from 1957 and has the convertible barrel with the sight on the slide. BIG differences between early and late production. I’ll have to do a thread when the safety arrives. |
