Noveske or Grovetech stock mounted (drilled) QD attachment. If right handed, drill into the stock on the ejection port side of the gun. Remove the butt pad first to determine exactly where to drill the hole.

Hadn’t really thought of doing that, interesting.

Full rotation, limited rotation, or zero rotation? Any suggestions?

I’m leaning towards the full rotation. And thank you for the suggestion.

Edit: I see it now… the hallow stock options. Sold out at Grovetech.

What's the suggested load, one down, two down?

0. Load it up, replace the spring when needed. It's easy to check, your magazine spring should be ballpark 6"-8" longer than your magazine tube, depending on the length and manufacturers recommendation. Some longer magazines may like 12" longer. I always use Wolff springs, they last fully loaded for years.

Since purchasing a grey version in June of '23, I'm now at 796 rounds.
I have not had a stoppage of any kind with buck, slugs or bird shot....including low brass.
I've cleaned it 3x in this time frame.

Definitely a magazine tube spring that doesn't suck.

Esstac Shotgun cards
GGG sling mount that goes between the receiver and stock
Flash light
I like the GGG aluminum magazine tube cover/barrel clamp over the OEM plastic
Optic if thats your jam

Picked it up today. Cleaned, added a Gideon omega optic, zeroed at 50 yards. Rand some bird and buck thru it. Only hickup was with a suprema buckshot being slow to chamber. Plan to get some SeaTac cards, stock Qd mount and add a kick off scout light. Oh and make a match saver for it.

I haven’t had issues with my mag tube spring but we’ll see
I don’t really see the issue with the A300 lifter but everyone that’s got the pro lifter says it’s a big deal.

Honestly just order a replacement.

The comparison between a properly cut Wolff spring and the OEM spring was laughable.

I left my OEM spring loaded for a few weeks and had issues with the last round feeding onto the lifter.  There have been enough issues I have read about that, for the money, I default to replacement for everyone now.  Even if its a small percentage of springs that won't properly feed, the A300 was designed to be a duty/defensive shotgun and this is a known issue with them.

My buddy just got a brand new one, and I was able to compare his new spring to my wolff spring that has been loaded now for 6 months or so.

Not even close in terms of feel.  His runs, just like mine did brand new....but I have no doubt it will go sooner than it should.  He ordered a new spring.

Regarding the lifter....

If you load with your thumb straight, mine will pinch something awful.  If you bend the tip of your thumb to feed with the tip rather than the pad, its not an issue.   But it is easier to just throw it straight in, versus pushing up and in at the same time.  Necessary?  No.  A nice thing to have?  Yep!

I don't see that Wolff has springs for the a300 ultima. Am I missing something?

Maybe I should be looking for a general 12 ga spring on their site? I could just call them, I guess.

I just ordered the generic 12ga and trimmed it until I could get 7 rounds in there. It was very close to the recommended amount of it protruding from the tube….for some reason 14” is in my memory but I can’t recall the exact amount.

I agree the GGG sling mount between the stock and receiver seems more robust and functional. I may try it.

This. It is also very heavy. I had Urbinos on some of my 870s and my Gen 1 1301 has an Urbino. While it adds some welcome modularity and things like a cheek riser the grip is made for someone with gorilla hands and it adds a lot of weight.

I received my new gray A300UP a few days ago but I have not been to the range yet.  I’ve done a couple things:
- Magpul QD’s and a MS 1.  Their stuff is pricey but it works.  I’m not totally sold on using a sling.
- GG&G mag clamp and tube.  I may not have needed this because it looks like Beretta made some minor changes to the mag tube which would minimize clamp movement.   The OEM mag tube cover is now 2 pieces.
- GG&G mag follower
- Pro Lifter not installed yet and not sure if I really need it.
- Wolff mag spring on the way.   Probably won’t need this because I won’t keep it loaded.
- 6 of the 7 round Esstac cards.  I had some cards from AMZ and they suck.
- Plano hard case
- Shooting gloves because the grips are sharp.
- Cleaned it

This is my first SA so I’m just FFing it and playing with dummy rounds to get used to the operating system.  I have some 00, a couple slugs, and some trap loads that I’m gonna burn up very soon.

A long gun should have a sling. If you are using QD connectors it is even easier to remove it for maintenance but a sling is important for any long gun you plan on using for self defense. You may need to self care, help a family member or transition to a sidearm. All of these things are much easier to do while still maintaining control of your firearm. They add very little weight, they can easily be cinched down or use a rubber band to keep the sling tucked up on the gun when you don’t need it. There are basically no downsides to having a sling on your long gun besides cost but there are so many good and inexpensive slings on the market now days, even that downside is minor. Put a sling on it.

Dang, that’s too bad…my hands aren’t that large. I liked the looks of it, especially for the ability to mount a sling on the side of it.

So, I guess I’ll go with the GrovTech QD mount…

Looking for feedback on a High Visibility Shell Follower:

Anyone with experience with the GG&G follower?  Have you kept your 7 round capacity?   I will be switching to a Nordic Components follower spring too...

I did see the factory Beretta "Pro Follower" had to be cut down to allow full 7-round capacity.

It’s kinda funky in their website. You have to go into the sling mount page & choose the option for the rear mounted sling mount . It wants you to chose front or rear, or both. With or without sling swivels.

If it’s to confusing (which it can be), I’d just call them.

Here you go.

You have to go in the drop down menu.

I dont think their website has changed since they were known for their cantilever aimpoint comp mount.  It sucks.

Drop and push versus push down and push.

Lifter also doesn’t bite the thumb if you don’t bend at the first knuckle.

For me as a “shotgun is low on the list” type guy, it’s more user friendly.  Could easily be overcome with more range time.

Also if you are wearing gloves, the lifter doesn’t snag on the fingers when loading. It makes loading a lot more simple by just taking the lifter out of the equation. You don’t have the lifter in the way of the magazine tube. Is it required? No, you can train around the lifter but why when a product exists that isn’t very expensive and makes running the gun that much easier. Outside of its cost there are no negatives. In the newest Mod 2 version of the 1301 it comes from the factory with the Pro lifter installed. On the A300UP it is an upgrade. The prolifter and the opened up loading port on the A300UP makes loading doubles a breeze.

I’m with you, that’s why I bought one. Aside from being harder to ghost load, there’s no downside.

You can load a UP with oven mitts on with a pro lifter. It’s insane.

@Marksman14
When you say"drop and push vs push down and push" do you mean that the lifter just gets out of the way easier when putting a shell into the mag tube? I'm trying to visualize it.

The pro lifter is already “up” so there’s nothing to push out of the way when feeding shells.  You just drop it in there and push it forward into the tube.

Got it, thank you.
