I would like to get a soft armor/ plate system.  I know the interceptor style is dated.

What is the best type out and available right now?

What should I be looking for in features?

LVL IIIA soft and plates that are LVL IV (w/ IIIA supporting).

If they are NIJ certified, then they all pass the same tests, or they can't be called that. Beware of companies that don't explicitly have the NIJ cert.

yes  â€“–  apparently when you double click the emoticon it does not automatically put it into the text box -

you have to drag and drop
Just for the record - i have/had no problems with the ESAPI plates and IBA vests i have/had

I know I want level 3 with level 4 plates supporting.

I was more looking for info like, is the CIRAS the best, etc.

It other words, what system of soft armor and plates is the best available right now.

The CIRAS is just an armor carrier, and will accept any armor that's cut to the BALCS/SPEAR template. So if you want to get level 3 with level 4 plates it will fit just fine, but just know that it doesn't generally come with armor.

ETA: and it is the least uncomfortable armor carrier I've worn, so I highly recommend it.

I have tried several of the quick release systems and none of them seem to support the vest properly when fully loaded with rifle plates and mags.I bought my plates from Bulletproofme.com and got the Rampage carrier from Tactical Assault Gear.

So, is the general consesus that the CIRAS system is the best, or is there another setup I should look at as well?

Is there a good system available in Multi-Cam?

SKD has CIRAS in multicam IIRC.
