Ok so I have had my TC Muzzleloader for about 2 months now, I really like the thing, but IM not sure which would be considered the best hunting bullet, any suggestions?

I have just been shooting everything I can get my hands on for practice etc.

I heard that the TC bullets were made by Hornady, is this true?

Anyways, feel free to post your favorite hunting bullets.

Also, I was told to stay away from Powerbelts...any reason inparticular? I heard due to the bouncing or something or other in the barrel...I dont have any, just passing along here say from the range, thanks guys for any info.

You didn't say what caliber or twist rate you have but...

My Firehawk .54 (1:28 IIRC) likes the TC sabots with the Hornady .45 caliber, 240 grain XTP.  Strangely it would not group with anything else but seems to love these.  I sight 'em in at 100 yards but have tried them past that, probably wouldn't push the envelope past 125.

You can even re-use the sabots if they are not broken!

Sorry, my mistake,

IM shooting a T/C Omega X7, 24 inch barrel.

I got one of those recently too.  Haven't had a chance to take it out yet though

I've read very good things about the Hornady XTP 45 cals with black MMP sabots.
The bullets are pretty cheap in 100 packs and the sabots are $7.75/50 from MMP.

Check out the Chuck Hawkes website: Chuck Hawkes ML Section

The TC Shockwaves are Hornady SST's Chuck Hawkes again

2 777 pellets (100-grain equiv.) and a 200-grain shockwave in my Omega puts three in a (very tight) cloverleaf at 50.  Since I'm limited to open sights in NE, no sense trying any further.

Thats EXACTLY why I got a ML, I do the majority of my hunting in NE and I wont be able to make it for pathetic 10 day firearm season, so Im going to try my ML this coming Dec.

NO optics allowed in NE :(

I have tryed all types of bullets. The one i like the most in my TC Encore is Barnes
Spit-fire MZ 245 grain with 3 50 grain pellets. Its hard to beat Barnes. Every thing they put out is excellent. My encore shoots thesr better than there new TMZ.

My TC Encore Katahdin Pro Hunter likes the Barnes 285 br spitzer boat-tails.  They poleaxed a doe for me last December.  Going to try them in my Katahdin 460 S&W Mag barrel too.
