| Had my FAL to the range today to sight in the ACOG I just got for it. First shot the rifle jams... Grrrr. Second shot it completely locks up. I disassemble it and out falls a chunk of metal about the size of a pinkie nail. Ruh roh! So I start looking for what it can be. The top of the hammer, which appears to ride in a slot on the bolt carrier sheared right off. The hammer is marked EAI, I'm assuming that is Enterprise Arms. So it looks like I need a new hammer, suggestions? |

Quoted: You know I don't know if I do as I did not have the build done. I know the previous owner and he would have it compliant, but I'm not sure which parts would be the compliance parts.I would call up Entreprise and see if they will replace it. If not, I would use an original hammer unless U need a US hammer 4 parts count. I could try calling EAI, maybe it was just a weak hammer. I know the previous owner shot it, and I shot it before as well, but its been a couple years since I had. I just founf it odd on the first round fired it apparently broke. |
| Currently DSA and Falcon Arms offer US-made hammer/trigger/sear, but I believe only as a set. Century, Vulcan, and FSE also had sets in the past. To my knowledge, the only place U can get a US-made hammer a la carta is Entreprise, unless someone has one lying around. I have an EAI hammer and sear that I have used in the past. Haven't had any trouble with them yet. Hopefully EAI will send U another. |
