I have confirmed that the barrel on my FAL is shot. BAD! 14" groups at 50 yards with new Yugo ammo.

I need to replace it/have it replaced, but I want to go the most economical route possible. What I want is a source that will get me a new or used but in very good condition barrel. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something to replace a worn out South African barrel. If DSA is it, then DSA is it, but if there is something almost as good for significantly less money, well then that would be better.

I am looking for a balance between quality and cost, I am willing to sacrifice some quality for lower cost, as long as the new barrel is usable.

DSArms use to have them. They still advertise Izzy heavy barrels in the Shotgun News.

Try the Marketplace on the FALfiles.

Barrels are popping up all the time.  member SLR-5000 is advertising new US made Inch barrels.  He says he can add a Metric gasblock.

Gunpartsguy and Gunthings are also good sources for all parts.

I got one of the Sarco new Argy barrels last year.  However, it's hit or mis with them.

Be advised that if you plan on chopping some length, some of the Argy barrels have been found to have been bored off center in places and they are best left full length.

Check the Marketplace on the FAL Files.  They are on there all the time.  I'm getting ready to list a matching set, barrel and bolt/carrier on there.
