I have a Rugged Obsidian on order and am looking for a threaded barrel for my Glock 19.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what ones to get or what to stay away from?  I do have a 1/2x28 booster on the way for the can.

I think most of them are coming out of the same place. But that's just me.

Factory Glock works well.  They are 13.5x1LH though.  Maybe get a second piston to cover your bases.  Have used Storm Lake, KKM, Zev and Silencerco in 1/2-28.  All work fine.

If you have a 1/2x28 booster you will need an aftermarket barrel. I have a few Silencero ones and they have been great.

Any of the usual Glock outlets. I have used gemtech, glockmeister, Glock store and also local gun shows. In fact just left gun show where they were for sale.

You bought the wrong piston. The answer is factory Glock barrel.

For Glock, HK, & Sig I go with factory if possible.

For conversion barrels I have mostly Lone Wolf / Alpha Wolf.

I just checked Glockmeister and Glock store and they're not listed on either site. I can't find them anywhere. If anyone knows where to buy factory Glock 19 threaded barrels, please reply!

metric LH threads suck if your user serviceable can is built with RH threads (all of them in the US anyway)...

you go to tighten the can against the LH threads and the damn can starts to disassemble.   A Tirant 9 has a substantial amount of bearing surface at the end that secures the piston so its not so bad with LH threads.  However, SiCO cans have little to none as you go from the full size Octane to the Omega 9K.

I have an Omega 9k in jail and am trying to divest all my LH threads.  However it seems P229 barrels are too thin for anything but metric threads.

How do you define best?

If accuracy is your measure, KKM is the winner.

I personally hate my SiCo g17 Barrel. It has so much slop in the lockup that I get occasional light primer strikes. When you shake the pistol it you can audibly hear it wiggling. If I put the stock barrel back in, this goes away.

Get lone wolf or stock glock.

I got my factory threaded on the EE. They pop up pretty cheap on there occasionally.

Fired my G19 today with a SilencerCo threaded barrel. Seemed just as accurate as stock for me. With either one I know I'm currently the limiting factor. That may change in time but for now I'm happy with Sico.

You probably shouldn't go there. That is, if you like the current balance in your bank account.

Yup, totally agree with you, LH is PITA on my SiCo suppressors.

They are expensive but according to Barsto's website you can get a 229 barrel in 1/2x28. http://www.barsto.com/category_main.cfm?ID=229
