I have a M16 set up in 9mm with a collapsible stock and a 7inch upper. I get bolt bounce when I use the buffer that came with the stock and when I use a Spikes buffer made for 9mm collapsible stock. Anybody have any experience with an AR RESTOR buffer or the Advanced Armament cyclic rate reducer ? Both claim to tame the recoil, stop bolt bounce and lower the cyclic rate but I would like to know your experience before I buy
thanks

I've had very good luck with the Rock River Arms "two piece" mechanical buffer and It's only $25 to boot !

I've been using an Enidine hydraulic buffer and love it.  It seems like most of the people here who have used them didn't like them though.

I just run a regular Colt 9mm buffer. Of course the MGI rate reducing adjustable buffer looks good too if you want to spend more.

I have been using the AAC Rate Reducing buffer for a few years and it works great in my LRM M169 as well as my 5.56 uppers.  I actually just got my M16 last month and use the buffer to relieve bolt bounce with my Adams Arms 11.7 upper when running in FA.

I can confirm that it definitely does "stop bolt bounce and lower the cyclic rate" but I can't say I have noticed (not that I ever have tried) a reduction in recoil.  Honestly, the LRM M169 was being supplied with this buffer back when Lee Miner was the sole source for his creation.  I don't know if they are still supplying BUT I ended up with my AAC buffer this way and I'm quite happy with it.

Do you use it with the collapsible stock?

Yes, currently in a mil spec buffer tube and Magpul CTR and previously in a Magpul M93, both without issue.

I run a full size Enidine in my RR. Works well with 9mm, 223 and 7.62x39 set ups.
It seems to smooth things out and there is a slight reduction in the rate of fire, I like it!

I run the Rock River 9mm buffer in my M16 in 9mm, 556, 5.45, and of course 22
