I have a M16 set up in 9mm with a collapsible stock and a 7inch upper. I get bolt bounce when I use the buffer that came with the stock and when I use a Spikes buffer made for 9mm collapsible stock. Anybody have any experience with an AR RESTOR buffer or the Advanced Armament cyclic rate reducer ? Both claim to tame the recoil, stop bolt bounce and lower the cyclic rate but I would like to know your experience before I buy

I have been using the AAC Rate Reducing buffer for a few years and it works great in my LRM M169 as well as my 5.56 uppers. I actually just got my M16 last month and use the buffer to relieve bolt bounce with my Adams Arms 11.7 upper when running in FA.
I can confirm that it definitely does "stop bolt bounce and lower the cyclic rate" but I can't say I have noticed (not that I ever have tried) a reduction in recoil. Honestly, the LRM M169 was being supplied with this buffer back when Lee Miner was the sole source for his creation. I don't know if they are still supplying BUT I ended up with my AAC buffer this way and I'm quite happy with it. |

Yes, currently in a mil spec buffer tube and Magpul CTR and previously in a Magpul M93, both without issue. |
