Do you keep a bipod on each rifle you use with a bipod? Or do you switch a single bipod over each time you want to use it on a different rifle? Or somewhere in between?

Poll inbound.

I use bipods on my bench and precision rifles, I do not use them on my field and run and gun type rifles.

So not sure which option I vote for....

For each gun that you do use a bipod with, do you have a dedicated bipod for each? Or do you have one or two that you switch around between them?

Dedicated. If for no other reason than it saves on prep time in getting to the range.

Bipods, relatively speaking, are cheap. No reason not to just get one where you need it IMO.

Don't really have many for the SBR's and SMG's...Have you seen how stupid an Uzi looks with a bi-pod?

Seriously, you don't need all that many. Depends on the rifle.

Don't own any and haven't really seen the point.  Anytime I'd use a bipod I end up using a sandbag or shoot off of a pack.

This is one thing I've really noticed. About half the time I'm using sandbags or a rest. I would hardly say that a bipod is a requirement by any means.

I don't need a bipod for every rifle that I have set up to use one. They always end up with their own anyway though.

I used to have a GI folding bipod for the AR I owned...other than "completing the set", I never used it for anything.

My forearm, sock/sandbag, or a pack always did well.

The tightest groups I have ever shot at 100yds has been using a bipod plus a rear rabbit ear style bag on the stock end.  This was using a bolt action .308.  Shooting prone with a bipod is more stable for me than a bag.

I just got this GG&G bipod.  It seems rugged.  I haven't used it much.  I will probably leave it off most of the time b/c my XCR already weighs alot.  It has a quick detach mount  built in with swivel and extending legs.  It's not quite as fast as Harris since there are no springs but it seems stronger.

This is what a bipod is Best used for.  Mine's the one on the left, and my buddy's is the one on the left.  The cars were driving in the same day the photo was taken at the MG shoot I host annuallly in Minnesota.  Of course, lots of other shooters helped blow holes in those cars until they burned.

I just have bi-pods on my sniper rifles for bench shooting. But if i ever get a belt-fed weapon i'm sure i'll either get a bi-pod or tri-pod for it.

My precision rifles (an M-40A3 clone, DMR clone and the wife's Savage 10fp) have dedicated bipods and support weapons such as my RPK, M-14E2 and Izzy FALO also have bipods but that's about it.  IMHO, putting a bipod on an assault rifle or pistol caliber carbine is just plain silly.  You slow down the handling for marginal improvement in your accuracy.  That being said though, I do have the metal clip on bipod for my 603 but that's just mainly for completeness of the collection and not for real world use.

If it is a weapon that sees regular use of a bipod, such as precision rifle or belt fed weapon, then there is one attached to it at all times.
