A guy owed me some money. He offered me a rifle as he is short of cash. The rifle turned out to be a SLG 95. It is still in it's "ban state". It will require about $200 to unban. That's not really the issue.

After I brought it home I checked the bolt gap- there is NONE. No bolt gap at all. I shot about 20 rounds through the gun and it fires and extracts without any issues. I shot several different types of ammo.....I really need to put some smaller rollers in the gun I suppose.

I have seen several replacement rollers that are marked so it's easy to know which ones you have/need. Will these be marked or will I have to measure them and figure it out or should I not worry about it at all?

I'd call Jeff Walters, he'll tell you what to do.  918-696-8715  or 918-781-3939

Barring that,

You want larger rollers, not smaller ones. You may also need to replace your locking piece depending on how much wear there is on the shoulder angles. You can't go wrong replacing both.

Problem is until you get some gap it's hard to guess whether the barrel needs re-pressing or not. You could drop some +6 rollers in and still only gain a couple of thousandths if the barrel has moved.

I sort of figured it out and have ordered a set of +4 rollers...see what that gets me.

Messing with your bolt-gap can take some trial and error while you troubleshoot. I have changed a locking piece on my V93 with RCM, and it helped so then I needed smaller rollers than what I put in to begin with, but with a new LP and some +4 rollers it got me right where I wanted to be.Sounds like you got it figured out and are headed in the right direction.

I know one thing. I am putting in a MAJOR parts order, going to run about $600. This little experiment got me to thinking, parts are now cheap and fairly available- time to stock up. Would be a really bad thing if I had this problem and couldn't get parts.
