I've been on the web trying to study up on my Garand knowledge, there's a big gun show going on next weekend and was wondering if anyone could suggest some good books I can get to help me decipher what's what on the M1's there. I specificly want a WWII era rifle with historicly accurate parts. Perferably pre 1944. I need to hurry up and order some liturature so I'll have i by the weekend. Jason |

I use Bruce Canfield's "Complete Guide To The M1 Garand And The M1 Carbine" for reference material. Scott Duff has a series of books on the Garand rifle. I don't have any but they are regarded as a very authoritative source of accurate information. |

Gentlemen, My Books and CD are how the M1 Garand got started from 1920 to 1939. The 2 books are called the Garand Papers. The CD has Army Singal Corps footage of building and testing on the M1 Garand. Please DON'T Order my stuff if you are not interested in the HISTORY of the M1. try Duff's WWII book, usually found with a red cover, great info on each part, (better than canfields) when you get that, you will need his post war book (blue cover) hatcher's book of the garand, and hatcher's note book too,, find most at abebook.com, alibris.com or addall.com good luck |
