Could someone tell me where I could purchase a Bore Sighting Kit that would cover .223 and .308? Misc |

To give a blow by blow-----I set up a large standard target (black center on white) usually at 100yds. I set up the rifle on a solid rest or sandbags, remove the bolt on a boltgun or set up a AR upper without lower or boltgroup. Of course this method will not work with a lever gun or other types where you can't look down the bore from the rear. Slide the gun around on the rest/bags untill the bore is centered on the target center. Then adjust the scope to be sighted on the same target. This method will also work with iron sights (peep or open). Double check the bore is still on the target and you will be on paper. If I don't have the time to do this or can't use this method because of gun type I just grab a buddy at my club range and shoot at the dirt berm with the other guy spotting my hits. " I am shooting at that white rock 3 feet left of the #5 target stand" " "you hit 2 feet left and about 4 feet low" and then adjust and repeat. I never found the need to spend a pile of money on a laser to stuff in the end of my barrel but some folks seem to like them To really answer your question,The first place I would look for something like that is Midway (midwayusa.com) |

The local Wal-mart has a laser bore sighter that works from .22 to .50 calibers. I forget what brand it is but it looks close to the Laserlyte (Item #: SCP-800) one from Cheaper Than Dirt. Cheaper Than Dirt If I remember right, it sells for about $35 or $40 and it' at the Sporting Goods Counter above the ammo at our store. |
| Both Wally World and Sportsmans Warehouse have laser sighting systems for $50.00 or so. Overseas made, they have a laser that is bore-aligned with the body; the body tapers to a long needle that is less than .22 cal. At the very end of the needle there is a place to install an adapter that will allow various calibers to be used. |
