| My friend just bought a bore snake for his Mosin Nagant M44 carbine. I'm trying to tell him that the bore snake is something that you use for at the shooting range or the field, but you still need to clean with the rod and patches when you get home. He won't believe me. What do you guys think? |

Unless you shoot corrosive primers a bore snake will do fine. The only reason to scrub the bore is to get rid of copper plating over corrosive salts. With no corrosive salts it's not necessary to get rid of the copper, it's self limiting. Get up over 10,000 rounds and you may have to scrub the barrel though. -- Chuck |
