A couple years ago, there was a guy on Arfcom that was processing .223 brass by the Flat rate box full.  I sent them a couple boxes and was very happy with the result.  Now I am needing some more processing.  The link I saved defunkt, and I don't see any current listings.  I have done a simple google search and even found a place in STL, http://www.rvow.com/customer%20cases.htm but they never answer their phone and don't respond to their email.

So, here I am with a 6 gallon bucket full of .223 that needs processed, and I can't find anyone to help.  I just flat do not have time to do this myself, at least not in this quantity, so I am willing to pay a company to do it for me [and thusly contribute to the economic stimulus..] but where?

Please post up any contact info of anyplace that does brass processing, and then give your honest opinion about the place.  For example, if I could find the place I had used, I would give them an A+ for value and a A- for speed.  The brass was perfect and it only took about a week longer than I expected, which could have been shipping slowness, to be fair.

Places near STL or with extrordinary turnaround times definately take precedence..

Brass Preparation Service for Competitive Shooters
(Competitive Shooters Working for Competitive Shooters)
Over 30 years experience

Class I Case Preparation (commercial or military): $.045 per round (minimum 2000 rounds).

Class I case preparation includes:

1. Tumbled to high polish
2. Sized to SAAMI specs
3. Primer pockets cleaned
4. Flash hole deburred (all brass)
5. Trimmed to standard specifications
6. Case necks deburred and chamfered
7. Military crimp removed (swaged not cut)

Note: Please sort brass prior to shipping for processing. A minimum of $25 will be charged when range residue brass is sent for processing and has not been sorted to remove badly dented cases, live ammo, live primed cases, Berdan primed, and extraneous materials.

Sort out cases that are generally unfit for use and these include Federal (FC) (head stamp is in large letters), PMC, National Police Association (NPA), AFF (Australian), MF (Australian), and some other foreign makes. Good brass includes IMI (Israeli), IVI (Canada), Winchester (Olin), Remington, Lake City (LC), Western Cartridge Company (WCC), Black Hills (BHA), etc.  Make sure you sort out and discard all Berdan primed brass. Should brass contain Berdan primed cases and the result is damage to a decapping assembly an extra $20.00 will be added to processing fees.

NOTICE: Mountaineer Brass Reconditioning/Processing has discontinued priming cases. Several reasons: 1) Some cases sent for processing have enlarged primer pockets and primers literally fall out during priming operations on a progressive machine. It is best for the end user to prime using any of the hand priming tools so that loose primer pockets can be separated out. 2) Primer shortages continue making it difficult to keep single lots or primers in stock. 3) Concern for the end user and the possibility for alibis in important matches.

Cases will be returned in customer supplied shipping container or equivalent. Shipping costs will be billed when brass is shipped. Allow 6 to 8 weeks for turn around, except during Summer months. The best time for brass processing is during winter months when shooting activities slow down. During the shooting season, every attempt will be to get your brass processed and back to you as quickly as possible, but no guarantees on the above mentioned time frame are made. Note: Dillon standard sizing dies are used for case preparation sizing to .244 neck size. Sizing is also completed to shooter specs for headspace or SAAMI.

Cases are head-spaced according to cases provided by each customer, utilizing a precision tool (MO Guage).

Rifle case preparation includes: .223 only
Pistol case preparation includes: .45 ACP only

I was about to ask if this guy had a website or an email address but then I noticed his location and how long he has been doing the job and I suspect that is my answer.  I will try to call him.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I have not used Dick's service but he is a stand-up guy. He is a regular poster on nationalmatch.us so he does have internet access.

There is someone on www.gunbroker.com advertising .223 case processing, do a search there for .223 brass and you should see their ad.

Don't send the brass to River Valley.  I think Hi-Tech in near downtown St. Louis does brass processing.  I've bought anything from them.  They have a web site.
