Does anyone have any idea what thread pitch is used on a Browning A-Bolt to accommodate the Boss system? Thanks |
You are posting in the wrong forum, this is a forum for registered silencers and related technical discussion. The Browning "BOSS" system has to do with muzzle vibration and harmonics, and not sound suppression. Perhaps you could contact Browning directly and ask them what the thread pitch is. |
It doesn't take a great leap of thought to realize he is looking to remove his Boss and is wondering if the exisiting threading is compatable with a supperssor currently avaliable. You are one of the most knowledgable persons on this board about this stuff, yet you post something like this?
|
| take your boss off .take the rifle to good machine shop ,calling ahead might help.have them mike the thread od then check the thread pich with a set of thread gages. this will let you know what thread it is. if you plan on using the existing threads for a suppresor I'd contact a manfacturer and see if they can use the threads . |
I knew my post wouldn't sound right, but I couldn't think of any other way to put it. If I offended anyone, I am sorry, it was not my intention. |
That's the right way to do it, as well as calling Browning with the serial number. That way you can check what Browning thinks that they did. |
