So put in at Brunos and it arrived today... pretty fast but they charged $24 bucks for shipping and handling ON TOP of the hazmat fee for 8lbs of powder and a box of primers.  My fault for not checking first, but is this normal? I figured $10 to $15 tops.  In all the years of reloading I always bought local so I had no idea, nothing to be found here in Vegas now so I had no choice.

Thanks.

That is high.  It often comes down to bitting the bullet and ordering from a place that charges like that these days if they have something instock that no one else has.  I try and stick to one of the larger operations like Midway or Powder Valley.

There are some places that won't ship powder and primers together in the same box, so they split it up and you get hit with hazmat x's 2.

A lot of their customers are benchrest shooters with deep pockets that don't complain about paying the extra to one of their own.  Plus they stock up at the shoots.

Sometimes the cost of paying more is less than the cost of delay or doing without.

I just have to drive from 58th street to central. No shipping or hazmat charges for me.
