| Are these bullets good? Anyone buy these in bulk? Midway has a good price right now. Anyone have feedback? I'm thinking of picking up a thousand 9mm (115gr hp) for $90 and a thousand 45 (200gr rn) for $113. |
| I buy them from Dillon because I live near them. The bullets are fine for target practice and having fun. They have been pretty accurate for me in several different calibers. They may not be as accurate as FMJ bullets but that just depends on what you want to do with them. |

Nowdays they cost almost as much as jacketed FMJ bullets, so I quit buying them. +1. Otherwise good stuff. I used their .45 200g FN for target loads and they worked great and were very accurate. But several years ago their prices spiked and I haven't bought many since. The prices you show don't seem too bad though. Buying in bulk helps. |

I used a 10s of thousands of them and they are decent bullets. I've shot 40, 45acp, 10mm, and 30carb Rainiers and they all performed well. Besides being sure to bell the case enough, you need to remember to set the crimp to only return the case mouth to it's original dia and not crimp it into the bullet as this will both loosen your bullets and can cut through the plating. In addition, because their cores are soft lead, be sure to use lead bullet loading data rather than jacketed because they obturate into the rifling like lead bullets. Don't worry about them though, they are really easy to work with and I've used tons of Rainier, Berry's, and X-Treme and they all work very well. As for cost, check out TJ Convera's current stock of both Berry's and X-Treme bullets. Both are just as good as Rainiers and I buy them based upon the best price. TJ Convera's cost includes shipping and they've got them in stock. I just received my second order of 5k of their Berry's 158grn 38/357 bullets and they shoot very well in my leverguns with speeds from 1,500fps - 1,825fps. SWEET! Thanks COSteve! I'll be calling them alright |
| I use their 200gr hollow points in my 45 (kimber 1911). I've had nothing but good luck with them. The HP is the only style that I've tried thus far, but I think next time I'll order a few different boxes of 500 to try (though I definitely won't complain about the 200gr HPs... they work great). |

If you dont bell the case mouth enough it's easy to shave the coating off them, but for cheap bullets they're better than plain lead I would agree 100% Yes this. That's the only real problem I ever had with 'em, and then only experienced the problem when loading .45ACP (not sure why). The problem was easily corrected by, as AssaultRifler said, readjusting the expander die to flare the cases out a bit more. Loaded a fair amount of them in 9mm and .40 also. They're fine for cheap bullets. I haven't used any in a while though, as I'm able to get Montana Gold locally, and cheap. I prefer them. |

I prefer metal jacketed ammo for all of my 9's and 45's. Precision Delta has real full-metal jacketed bullets for less.....and free shipping. Their 9mm, 115 gr, FMJ bullets are only $70.00 per thousand and their .45 Auto, 230 gr, FMJ bullets are $116.00 per thousand. Great deal, in my opinion. http://www.precisiondelta.com/ |

+1 for Montana Gold, i hope. i bought a bunch of 124gr 9mm off of GT two weeks ago but haven't had time to rteload them.
maybe i should take a typing class foirst! for the last five years all my berrys purchases have been through gander mountain(before they started charging tax in Texas) as their ship/hand was cheaper. ordering big from berrys always got me a'lead surcharge'. i always knew what gander was charging for s/h. |
