Here something I have never heard of being discussed here.
Who has one of these? And does it work? I have tried to do research on this fabulous piece of equipment but have found little to no info. I have heard that this is often the secret used by world class shooters and makes the champoins. I can't find where to get one of these. Any info. or experiences with one of these...please do share. Especially if you know where to get one of these. If this has been covered in a thread... the link would be great. |

It's specialty equipment used by some benchresters and some long range shooters.
Check over at www.benchrestcentral.com for leads. I can't point you to one off the top of my head, but Google might turn up a link. |

Bullet and/or cartridge spinning.......
OK, the cheap way.........roll your loaded cartridges across a flat/level surface. Watch how the bullet tips wobble. Expensive way..........put the cartridge or bullet into a jig and using a micometer dial indicator watch the high and lows as it is rotated. http://www.sinclairintl.com/prod_detail_list/Concentricity-Gauges Aloha, Mark |

I believe these are/were made by Vern Junge (sp) in Nevada. I had a friend who was a world class shooter. He had the skills and equipment to shoot in the ten ring at 1.000 yards. He felt this machine helped him to get a "ten" when he held for a "ten". It eliminated the occasional wayward, unbalanced bullet that flew out of the ten ring.
Neither this machine, nor any other will make you a chanmpion. Spend your money on components and practice, after learning the proper techniques. |

Also called a concentricity gage.
Neco is the most visible, but can find many more. I have a Brown Lil' Wiggler and a Neco. You can also make your own easy with a machinist "V" block and a magnetic based dial indicator. If you set your seating die up right, there's no need for one but just to check the initial setup. 'Borg eta also one made by Bersin |

I got whipped in a "vintage" rimfire vintage benchrest match last night, so you got a little benchrest.com and rimfirecentral.com all at once. Y'all have to read my mind sometimes. Benchrest.com is the web site for Benchrest Central, too. |
