They show up in the EE every once in a while.  Fun guns, once you put the money into getting them modified.

damn you didn't tell me you had 2 of those things.

They are cool as hell. I liked shooting the one you brought to the range that day. That green laser is disturbingly bright.

They dropped them because most are crap! I had 2 of the early models, one that went back to Bushmaster 2 times because it would go full auto. It just did bursts of 3-5 rounds every now and then, you just never knew when. Another annoying feature was the hot gas venting right into your face. Boy I loved breathing hot powder gases. Other than these two issues it was ok I guess.

Actually, I have three ... but I didn't have the second one in the pic at the time of the Shoot.  The laser on the new gun is supposedly 35mw (the one you played with is 12mw); I'll bring both to the next Shoot .

You should try firing an M16 with a can on FA; talk about getting a facefull  The new lowers don't have the FA problem, and once you chop 4-5" off the front, it actually becomes a much better gun.

Here a pic of the modified ones compaired to a stock one, with an M4 thrown in for good measure:

I'll second the burst issue. After having this happen several times I noticed the two clips which snapped onto the bolt carrier guide rods had slipped off of the notch. I was planning to make two small rings that would slip over the rods and set screw in place giving the clips extra support.

Chiba, if your interested I could make them and send them to you. Im not sure how much room inside I would have but I dont think they would interfere with anything. Say .09 to .125 per side bigger than the rod. So add .180 or .250 to the operating rod diameter and thats the diameter of the ring.

I decided to take a closer look at the retaining clips on the bolts, and found something very interesting:

I'm on my way out, so I'll have to investigate more tomorow, but hopefully this explains why you had problems with your clips.
