Well, crap.
Just unfolded my Remington top folder.  And the bitch split right around the central pivot.  Now I've got to deal with Rem repair to get a new pistol grip part.
Dammit.

There's good news.

Unless you are LE, Remington won't even deal with you on parts for the folder.

Does Remington still make, or stock these componets?  Keep your eyes open at the local smaller shows, and eghey. Pistol grips alone tend pop up from time to time. On a side note it flat kills me to see these stock brining $100.00 plus on eghey. They are difinately not worth that IMO. The plastic bakalite PG is the weak link. I have found my fair share of busted ones.

I don't know if they still make them or not.  I didn't see it on their LE page, so they may not.  I may not even bother getting it fixed, as I have some other stocks that I have been thinking about putting on it anyway.  And you're right about that grip being the weak part.

Remington is using the Advanced Technologies folder now.

Serious as a heart attack.

If you're looking to try other stocks and you wanted a folder, I suggest the Knoxx Cop Stock.  I absolutely love it...cuts down on recoil, it folds open and closed super easy and it's strudy as hell.  You may have all ready seen it but just thought I'd mention it.

I got the top folder because I got a hell of a deal on it, and stowing it in a confined space was necessary.  That is no longer the case and I am probably going to go back to a fixed stock.  With all the other crap on it I'm not sure I even want a Speedfeed:  I may just go back to a regular straight stock.
