I've got the cleaning kit that came with my AUG A3, as well as an extra extractor/pin/spring, and an extra CR2032 batt for my T1.

The A3 kit comes with an oiler bottle, pull-thru cord, nylon brush, brass brush, jag, and some patches.  Otis's stuff is better, but since this came with the A3, it's what I used.

Pete has them for $30.  http://pjs-steyraug.com/augusrparts.html

An East German 5.45 AK cleaning kit, from CDNN about $2 with pull through, brushes, punch, tool and empty oil bottle. Kit comes in a cloth wrap- discard the wrap. Oil pack from RTG Gun Parts for 75 cents, it is German Waffen Oil  in a "bubble" that will fill the bottle when you puncture it. Extra patches and an spare extractor kit. The space in the stock is handy.    edit to add: either the Otis or Steyr kit would probably be a better storable cleaning kit. When I put my kit together it was what I could find, I was not aware of the Steyr and had not thought of the Otis.

In mine... I bought the Otis brass rods to complete a 20 inch cleaning rod, small bottle of CLP, complete spare bolt, a few cleaning patches, and a cleaning brush. FYI, Pull-through cable cleaning brushes won't let you rod out a stuck case.

I think there is little need to "rod out" a stuck case with the AUG design. Quick change barrel - remove the barrel use your Leatherman, pliers, screw driver or what ever to remove the case.

Get something a little higher proof and you could use it for antiseptic/antithetic.

I was shooting some 5.56 that went through hell and back in an STG. That's exactly what I did when one got stuck. You can do it pretty quickly. Microtech Scarab works great

So what type of leatherman, pliers and screwdriver are you carrying in the stock of your STG?  I want a field kit that will always be with the weapon. If I have to clean it anyway, why wouldn't you want a cleaning apparatus that would do double-duty?? I guess this is a carry over for all the stuck cases I had to rod out of my first STG. Works 100% now but better safe than sorry.

Where did you get your Otis brass rods and how much did they cost? Thx!...
