Anyone bought a CAI CETME lately? Seems like they have reappeared on the scene after falling out of site for a while... Is CAI still building with quality issues or have they cleaned up their act? Prices have climbed on these...is nearly $600 far too much for these rifles? Thanks, Lumbergh |

I can't help you with your questions because I bought mine 3 or so years ago. I sure like mine. I have fired thousands of rounds of Australian, Indian, British ammo through mine and I have NEVER had a stoppage. I can't imagine the newer ones are worse than the old. Make sure you can return it if there are problems. Mine has been awsome from day one. |

The best place for CETME info is Military Firearm and the kits on the EE are from JSE Surplus;www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=47&t=506792 |
can but nomrally civy brass canbe weaker and will give yousome FTE's. it gets tsuck in the chumber flutes..i heard rem ammo does well due to thikcer brass in the caseings. YMMV 6000k through mine i bought 5 yrs ago.. only issues were me and mags,,,, more accurate than what i am ... |
Visit Mike's place linked above, take feeler gauges to check headspace, and eyeball plenty for straightness. Also cycle a few (w/o ammo) for binds, and see if cetme or g3 mags seat better (catch heights seem to vary, mine take c mags easy and g3 with an AR-ish pat below). Make sure it still comes with a chromed bbl. I walked away from many, pissed off a few dealers along the way, found one that came with 'no touch irons'. Shop patiently and have fun! |
