So i'm looking and pretty sure i'm going to order the CE ProChrono digital off midway, on sale for 99,99 and grab the USB thing for it as well.
Anyone else have this that can provide some feedback on it? I looked at all the others and well....this one seemed to have the best comments around it. honestly though....at this point in the game I am new to all this speed and MOA stuff, so the data might tell the seasoned people something, but me....yea...speed is what the book shows for this grain dump or over/under by x... I'll be firing at a 50 meter outdoor target once i've got my new scope sighted in (using store bought rounds) then i can run reloads of 5-10 round per grain dump to see if speeds match the book or come near. Which i'm sure i'll report back here and perhaps get schooled on the data since i'm looking for my most accurate load (.223, 5.56 1-7 twist) using least amount of resources neccessary to do it. (and have an understanding (read: schooling) of how that is determined) Anyhow, experiences with this Chrono? Should also get extra rods too, cause with my luck i'll nail one first shot. (nah...i'm not that much of a klutz..but if I say it will happen...well it won't cause i'm actually pretty lucky |

I have been using mine for over a year now and it has worked very well for me. Wish I had the remote, but I hate the price of the remote for what it is. I make do without it for now. I know a couple of guys with Chrony brand chronographs that have had issues with them and error messages. I don't see this wiht mine at all. Only time I get an error is if I pass my hand over one of the sensors. I like thta it has a place to store a spare battery on board too. The plastic housing seems kind cheaply made but it serves the purpose just fine. I don't throw it around either though. I would really like to see someone make a Chronograph with blue tooth built in. Can't undertand why they don't. Would love to be able to control the chrono and store the data from my iphone. They shoulkd have an app for that. |

I have the prochrono digital and it works great. The only errors I have ever gotten were from user error. I had the chrono in a kinda shady spot where the shadows from a tree made it read funny. Once I realized I had set it up in a bad location, the errors went away.
It reads 9 strings and up to 99 shots per string. You can turn it off, or take the battery out, and it still holds the data in memory. The sky screens work well enough, and on an overcast day I don't need even need them. When I win the lotto, I will buy the remote control, printer, and IR indoor screens. Haven't really needed them yet, though. I have chrono'd my .22, .223, and even shot arrows over it with my bow. So far, it has worked great. When I chrono my reloads, I really only use the velocity data to determine how consistent my loading is. If the velocities are close, the results on target usually show it. If the results on target are questionable, the velocities usually show why. Once you have a load worked up, you can shoot a bunch of them over the chrono and get better load data. That can then be put in the ballisitcs software to give you more accurate come-ups for your distance shooting. I also picked mine up on sale at Midway. Bottom Line: I have no regrets and would definitely recommend it. |

Am very satisfied with mine. Also have the usb to computer cord. Works great for changing strings and checking out your data real time. If shooting indoors consider purchasing the IR screens, they work great. If I had to buy again I think I would get the same thing all over....
