I recently picked one of these up, and had trouble off the bat, it wouldn't feed anything. After sanding down the rails and polishing the feed ramp some, it feeds and fires about 50% of the time, and it cycles perfectly on a successful fire. Unfortunately, the other 50% of the time, the firing pin barely touches the primer, after manually ejecting the round, I can see just the faintest mark of contact.
Unrelated, but also annoying, it will almost never feed the last round of the mag, you can see where the bolt hits the follower I'm using a standard trigger and a CMMG upper/lower, any suggestions? Thanks! |

You might have better luck in the Rimfire ar15 section of the board....Here
I ain't ever seen an issue like this with the other brand kits I have used. I can't see how a CMMG would be much different though. |
| Did you clean it before using? I would take the unit and use a good spray cleaner and make sure all the nooks and crannies are clean. Manually work the firing pin with the unit out of the rifle and make sure it moves freely. When I have a FTF with mine, the case looks like it was hit hard enough, so I blame it on the ammo. This occurs maybe 1 in 100. My only complaint is the extractor won't pull a misfired round out most of the time. Removing the cartridge usually involves 3 hands and a pocket knife or screwdriver. |
