Is the CMP stamping their cartouche on the side of the stock or the bottom of the pistol grip these days?

On my Birch stock it's on the bottom of the pistol grip. Just got it Nov. 9.

I think it depends on the stock. Birch are stamped on the bottom of the pistol grip and walnut are stamped on the side. I don't know personally, just what I've gleaned from different posts.
