I looked everywhere and could not find the certificate I got from my local range certifying that I shot a CMP qualifying match. However, I just looked on their order form, and it appears that I can just send in proof that I've gone to some sort of shooting match. So, would the practical pistol match I go to every week or so count? Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this. Thanks! -Couch-Commando |

look at cmp website. I sent a copy of my CCW license.

I take it that means that I can just send in a copy of the results and I should be good? The only reason I really question that assumption, is because my range has a specific M1 garand highpower competition that they sign people up for so they can order through CMP. I just figure if it's this easy, why bother having a specific match for it? |

They also have a marksmanship form you can have signed by a range official who witness' your shooting.
http://www.odcmp.com/Forms/marksmanship.pdf The matches used to be a requirement, but they have loosened up on that in recent times to make it easier to get one of tthem fine weapons. |

Quoted: Heck, just attend an Appleseed shoot put on by the RWVA. It's fun and will give you the skills to really shoot that Garand when you get it. -Deacon If I can scramble enough money together, I plan on going to local C&R matches and perhaps highpower matches. I need to improve my accuracy. I shot smallbore when I was 10-13, and was extremely accurate. My accuracy has since gone to shit. I have issues flinching when I shoot long arms. It sucks. I need to train it away and get my accuracy back so I can make cleaner hunting kills. Sort of a self respect thing. |

I just need the time and money to efficiently practice. What you think no one else can shoot? |

Just marksmanship. If you're still not convinced, you might try posting your question on the CMP forum: http://www.odcmp.org/new_forum/Default.asp |

Quoted: Sorry, that was mean of me. And I know I need to get better too. But I get sick of seeing people with $3000 rifles brag about hitting "minute of man" every time. Yeah, no one else knows how to shoot. ![]() We may not know what good shooting is, but at least we can spell it. ![]() ETA: Damn I was tired last night. Every post I made was full of misspellings and said stupid shit. |
