For the marksmanship or firearms related activity requirement does anyone know if having the BSA's rifle shooting merit badge will work? I still have my original sign off card and award card. Im Jonesing to get a Garand but finding a nearby gun course is hard to do when you are on a tugboat 2 weeks out of the month.

I have a VA CCP as well but I didnt have to do a range qualify for it, so I dont think it will work.

Thanks!

I am sure you will have to contact them directly and ask but I bet that would be acceptable. They will take a KY CCDW lic and that is a grand total of 21 rounds at a very short distance shooting a very large target.

I concur, they likely would accept it.  it's certified firearms training, that's all they're really looking for.

I think the 2 combined will do it as long as you have documentation.  They even have a form that a range can sign off on.

Thats what I was thinking too. Their (CMP) range sign off sheet is pretty much verbatim as the merit badge requirements. I just hope they except something from 1996.
I got a hold of my gun club they are going to get me something as well.

They accepted my VA CCW a couple years back with no problem.
